Vegetable Companion Plants
Potatoes and tomatoes? Frenemies at best. Potatoes also give cucumbers the cold shoulder, but they've got a bromance brewing with cabbage. Beans and onions? Total disaster. Beans and beets? Equally terrible. Beans adore carrots. Beets are head over heels for onions, cabbages, and potatoes. Meanwhile, cabbage is no fan of radishes. Carrots and onions? They’re basically peanut butter and jelly.
Welcome to the soap opera of companion planting!
Picture this: Carrot and Onion are inseparable pals. Carrot is having a steamy affair with Tomato behind Bean's back. Onion and Beet are the garden's undercover agents, keeping Carrot's escapades under wraps from Bean, who’s suspicious but clueless, and seethes with jealousy. Potato, meanwhile, is waging a psychological warfare against Tomato and the distant Cucumber. Unbeknownst to Onion, Potato is sneaking around with Beet. Cabbage, Potato’s confidante, harbours a bit of envy but knows to keep quiet about the whole mess.
