Wild Geranium (Geranium maculatum)

Delighted to meet you! I’m the Wild Geranium, also known as Geranium maculatum. With my soft lavender-pink blooms, I bring a touch of elegance to the woodlands, blossoming from early spring through early summer. Nestled amidst lush green foliage, I light up the forest floor with my delicate beauty.

My blossoms are a popular hangout for Syrphid flies and skippers, and I’ve even been known to offer native bees a cozy place to rest inside my petals at night. My sweet nectar is irresistible to pollinators, and in exchange, they help me sustain a thriving ecosystem.

I’ve also perfected the art of seed travel! When my seed pods ripen, they spring into action, bursting open and flinging my seeds as far as 10–30 feet away to ensure my legacy continues.
